Am I eligible?
To be eligible for a Delmar Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must:
- Be a current resident in the Franklin Regional School District in Westmoreland County, PA and have lived in the district for at least the past year
- Be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident
- Demonstrate financial need to pay tuition and other school expenses
- Be a high school senior, or have a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). An applicant may have:
- Attended the Franklin Regional School High School
- Been home schooled
- Attended a private, parochial, or charter school
- Have applied to or currently be enrolled in an accredited college, university, junior college, technical college, or trade school - on a full-time or part-time basis
- Have achieved a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 grade point scale or have received a GED. Applicants who have been or are currently enrolled in a college, university, junior college, technical college, or trade school (whether first-time applicants or previous Delmar Scholarship recipients) must also meet the following requirements:
- Applicants completing their first (freshman) year must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale (or comparable performance on other grading systems) for the first year
- Applicants completing their second (sophomore) or third (junior) year must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale (or comparable performance on other grading systems)
- Have been involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, volunteer activities, and/or work experiences
Students pursuing graduate-level education, in the fifth or later year of a combined undergraduate/graduate program, and members of the Delmar Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee, their spouses, and their children are not eligible.
