Am I eligible?
You are eligible to apply for a Delmar Foundation Scholarship if you:
- Are a current resident in the Franklin Regional School District in Westmoreland County, PA and have lived in the district for at least the past year
- Are a U.S. citizen or are residing in the country legally
- Demonstrate financial need to pay tuition and other school expenses
- Are a high school senior, a recent high school graduate, or an adult who is returning to school
- Will receive a high school diploma this year or already have a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). You may have:
- Attended the Franklin Regional School High School
- Attended another public high school prior to residing in the Franklin Regional School District
- Attended a private, parochial, or charter school
- Been home schooled
- Have applied to or are currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, community college, technical school, or trade school - on a full-time or part-time basis - to oursue:
- A technical certification (e.g., in healthcare, culinary arts, HVAC, welding, cosmetology, or other areas requiring certification or licensing)
- An associate degree
- A bachelor’s degree
- Have achieved a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 grade point scale or have received a GED. If you have been or are currently enrolled in a college, university, community college, technical school, or trade school (whether first-time applicants or previous Delmar Scholarship recipients) must also meet the following requirements:
- If you are completing your first year, you must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale for the year
- f you are completing your second or third year, you must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, including the semester in which you are applying
- Have been involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, volunteer activities, and/or work experiences
You are not eligible to apply if you:
- Have been enrolled in a program longer than the time typically required to complete it
- Have earned the credits required for a bachelor’s degree but haven’t graduated
- Have completed the credits for a bachelor’s degree in a combined bachelor’s/master’s degree program
- Hold a bachelor’s degree
- Will be pursuing a graduate degree
- Have previously received four full-year scholarships (i.e., for eight semesters) or the equivalent (i.e., for eight semesters over five or more years) from the Delmar Foundationl
- Are a member of the staff of the Delmar Foundation, their spouse, or their child
